ROLE DESCRIPTION
Meridian Adventure is seeking to recruit a qualified dive instructor for the Meridian Adventure Resort in Waisai, Raja Ampat in Indonesia. The instructor will be in charge of all in house guests’ recreational activities (excursion, scuba diving, water sport and also yacht charter). The main focus is for one newly certified PADI instructor to plan, organise and deliver safe, enjoyable high-quality Diving Lessons or Squad sessions. Teach individually or in groups using discussions and demonstrations; their main objective is to teach dive safety so that guests are confident in basic scuba skills. The role is multifaceted within the hospitality team. You will be involved in key catamaran and boat management tasks as well as equipment control for client safety. Situated in Raja Ampat, Meridian Adventures offers employment in one of the most beautiful and unspoilt diving areas in the world.
Duties
- To play a lead role in the delivery & development of the Recreational Diving programme
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with our customers and potential customers, handling and escalating complaints where appropriate
- Maintain and transport equipment, taking clients to dive sites, stocking the boat appropriately with supplies and adhering to environmental protection procedures
- Able to dive 3-5 times a day
- Good physical and mental health
- Computer Literate
DESIRED SKILLS
- Excellent understanding of marine life to provide informative dives for clients.
- You have an empathetic nature, are a solutions-focused team player with a “can-do” attitude, and are confident to guide appropriate and safe standards of behaviour.
- Hardworking, willing to learn, happy and outgoing person.
- Extra languages besides English will be an advantage.
- Conservation focused with insights into how to protect the ocean while diving. Meridian Adventure is passionate about Ocean Clean-ups, Crown of Thorns Removal Programs and the like.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience
- PADI certified
- Skipper and driver’s license
